Proud to be a Dairy Farmer
Designed for young dairy farm employees (20 – 30 yo) excited about working in the industry and eager to learn more, the program runs over three days to showcase all the industry has to offer
For farm owners and operators it is an opportunity to invest in the development of crucial staff to ensure their ongoing commitment to your business as well as the industry.
Over the last six years 132 young dairy workers, supplying 28 different dairy processors have already taken part. The 2026 program received over 100 applications (for the 28 places) from 16 different dairy processors, from every state of Australia.
All dairy farm employees from across Australia are encouraged to apply, regardless of the dairy processor they supply. Attendees must be aged 20-30 years old as at Feb 2027. The program is not for those who have already taken the step towards farm ownership – this program is aimed at on-farm employees (including those working on corporate farms).
All program costs, including flights for those from those outside of Victoria, are covered.

The Program
Who is the right person to benefit from this program?
- You have been working in dairy for at least a year, but not yet made any investment into dairy
- You have made a commitment to dairy and see it as a full time career
- You would benefit from seeing the pathways available for a career in dairy farming
- You have commenced or completed a Cert 3 or 4 (or are seriously looking at doing so soon)
- You have a great attitude about dairy, and want to meet other like-minded people.
Program Content
We will aim to cover a broad range of relevant topics.
We will have a number of guest speakers and relevant industry experts talk to the group, throughout each day of the program.
It is also expected that participants will actively contribute their own thoughts and experiences throughout the program.
